San Antonio Symphony

The Majestic Theatre is the proud home of the classical San Antonio Symphony. The SAS isn’t your run-of-the-mill, stuffy old symphony. This updated ensemble presents a modern twist to culturally-significant selections that are in perfect alignment with their slogan of “Let Yourself Go.” The Music Director, Sebastian Lang-Lessing, is known for his sophisticated and sensual flare as he conducts the SAS to unparalleled heights. Cadillac Broadway Across America

As part of the prestigious Cadillac Broadway Across America network of venues, The Majestic Theatre gives residents of the San Antonio Condos for sale the opportunity to see authentic Broadway shows within minutes of their home instead of traveling halfway across the country. So far in 2011, the scheduled shows are an exciting assortment of everyone’s favorite presentations. Review this list to make sure you don’t miss out:

• From May 10 through May 15, 2011, San Antonio denizens have the opportunity to see a live performance of "Rock of Ages" at The Majestic Theatre. Starring American Idol contestant and Tony Award nominee Constantine Maroulis, Rock of Ages tells the story of love between a small-town girl and big city rocker in the L.A. of the 1980’s. This musical features popular songs from that era including hits by Journey, Whitesnake, and Styx.

• Playing September 29 through October 9, 2011, "Mary Poppins" is ready to thrill children of all ages. This classic musical is recommended for ages six and up.

• Just in time for the holidays, "The Fiddler on the Roof" will be playing at The Majestic Theatre from December 6 through December 11, 2011. This popular Tony-award winning musical has won

America’s heart on Broadway and the big screen for years, and is now ready to win over San Antonio.

Headlining Acts

In addition to classical fare, The Majestic Theatre hosts regular productions of popular music acts. For a night filled with lighter entertainment, this is the place for San Antonio residents to be! To round out your year, don’t miss these thrilling shows:

• On May 16th and May 17th, San Antonio will be treated to the musical stylings of Celtic Woman. The Songs From the Heart concert combines Irish vocals and violins to create a mesmerizing night filled with unique sounds.

• For one night only, May 22, you can see Yanni in Concert just minutes from the San Antonio condos for sale. This legendary performer will perform selections from his new album, the first one with original studio music in nearly a decade.

• On June 10, Earth, Wind, and Fire will bring four decades of musical genius to the stage of The Majestic Theatre in San Antonio. With 23 albums to choose from, you’re guaranteed to hear your favorite selections by this Grammy-winning supergroup.

• Merle Haggard hits the stage on August 10, 2011. With over 50 years of experience in the country-music genre, this legendary performer will thrill the city for a single night.

• Although he won’t be on the stage as a comedian, Steve Martin will light up the night on August 26. Playing the banjo with his bluegrass ensemble, the Steep Canyon Rangers, Steve Martin is definitely not a joke when it comes to music. His latest banjo album, “The Crow: New Songs for the Five-String Banjo,” won the Best Bluegrass Album Grammy for 2010.
